The title 4 x 6 inch comes from the measurements for a standard postcard. Galerie Lorenz invited various artists to partisipate in an exhibition, where the only requirement was the dimensions: 4 x 6 inch. The work was displayed whithout direct attribution, yet with a list of the participating artist. Thus the viewer was able to acquire a piece of work for comparatively little money, yet without knowing whos work he or she was buying – unless you where an informed viewer.
